Gluten Free Green Bean Casserole

For the crispy onions :
1 large onion
1 1/2 cups of milk
2 tablespoons white vinegar
6 tablespoons besan or chickpea flour
black pepper
pinch of sugar

  1. Soak the sliced onion in the milk and vinegar for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the chickpea flour with salt, pepper and sugar in a plastic bag. Once the onions have soaked, toss in the chickpea flour. Shake off any excess flour and set aside.
  2. Heat sunflower oil until it reaches 350 degrees F. Fry the onions in batches until they are crispy and cooked through. Set aside and prepare the casserole.
  3. Preheat your oven to 180C.
